In addition to our regular Compact Figure 8 Scramble Event, we will have a full size car demolition derby. This is the first demolition derby in approximately 10 years.
The Morgan County Fair Board is made up of Versailles Lions Club members and the support of the fireworks stand at the fairgrounds this summer has enabled to make improvements to the fairgrounds and add to our events.
The Demolition derby is possible because of the fireworks stand proceeds and sponsorship at the Morgan County Fair this summer. Fans and drivers have continued to ask for a derby at the Apple Festival. Many drivers have said that the Apple Festival Derby was always their favorite event.
The announcement of the return of the Derby on the Versailles Lions Club Facebook page have been viewed by over 15,000 people and shared numerous times.
The promotor, J&B Promotions of Jamestown, has have heard from drivers in Mexico, Fulton, Auxvasse, Eldon, and as far away as Iowa that say they are building cars and planning to attend.
